I bow hunt. I suggest you wash your clothing in scent free soap, and use uv eliminator on your clothing. Put on your hunting clothes after you get to the woods. Wear rubber boots. Deer have excellent noses, and great vision. If it's allowed, hunting from a tree stand is a great way to be successful. I also use mechanical broadheads. Mine open up to cut a 2", three blade hole. I've never had a deer go very far, hit with my arrows. And, I've gotten 8 in the last 8 years.

have fun, i think scents are only something that will alert deer to something that's not real in the woods. i hunt where i think the deer will come from upwind. only if they don't smell you will you see them. their noses are their best defense as well as their sixth sense that a human is present. the key to being a successful hunter is that you are in the woods. you can't get one if you're not out there. practicing with your bow is essential. it has to be second nature. you must love to shoot to be a successful hunter. only experience will make you successful. try to hunt or be around successful bowhunters. everything else is luck.........and good luck to you.

well as you know there are so many but this time of year you dont want to use anything with estrus in it just doe pee but i like to use buck pee on a drag rag cause the bucks are still running together right now mock sparing. try some pure vanilla pour it in 3 35 mm film canaster with cotton in it or anise they like both make like a half moon around your stand tinks has a new scent out its called draw 2 its suppose too be good but around the begining to the middle of nov try still standing doe in heat the best on the market

Don't use any of the "rut" scents this time of the yr, it's too early. Best to smell like nothing, like your not there. Hunt with the wind to your face.

If you're bow hunting for the first time, you should be target shooting your bow all you can right now, if you haven't been doing so. I just went myself today for the first time in many, many years...hope you have better luck than I did!

Any of the scents you buy are pretty much the same. Some are more potent, and some contain other things, too. More important is making sure you don't smell like a human: Buy a scent killer soap for your washing machine, and wash your clothes with it. hang them outside to dry away from anything that could taint it, maybe under a tree or something like that. When the clothes are dry, put them in a sealed garbage bag. Take a shower with a similar scent killer soap. Pay special attention to your ass, crotch, hair, armpits, back of your legs, and so on. Do not use deodorant or regular soap. Spray a cover scent on your car seat and your boots. As you enter the woods, use a cover scent on your boots. Enter quietly from downwind or a crosswind. Try to use a tree stand. Deer don't pay attention as much to higher things. Make sure your camo matches your surroundings. Be in full camo. Use some doe in heat scent or challenger buck scent. Place it around your stand at about 4-5 spots within shooting distance about 3-4 feet off the ground. Be conservative with the scent. Use a cover scent when you get situated at your site. Lastly don't move. When it comes time to shoot, make sure the deer isn't looking at you. They can actually move quickly enough to duck arrows. Good luck.
