Hi. I'm getting started with archery and have just bought a new compound bow. Just wondering though... Should the cable guard be relatively loose in its socket or should it actually be able to be tightened in somehow? It holds the cables to one side beautifully, but since it's a bit loose, whenever I fire the bow the cable guard swings the cables back into their original position.
Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

The cable guard should be tightened, never loose.
Using a small lock washer will take care of it for you.
Putting together a small tool box is a good idea.
Screwdrivers. Small pliers. Allen wrench's. Just basic items
that will come in handy.
The torque applied to your bow when the arrow is released
can cause items to become loose. A quick inspection prior to-and after you have finished shooting for the day is a good idea.
Archery is such a good sport. Enjoy yourself!!
