What do I need to add to a ghillie suit?

I know what these suits are used for; and I want to buy one for Halloween or some scenario paintball game. I know that people add things to the suit (i.e. environmental stuff). How do I properly do that?

Also, if I'm carrying guns and other stuff with me, how do I do that without compromising the suit?

You can buy a ghillie online or in a military or sporting goods store. You can make one by hand, but it takes a lot of time, and since you're just using it for play, I wouldn't see the point in going that route. Plus, the hand-made ones are pretty warm when you wear them and they get heavy when it rains.

Contrary to what many people think, you don't wear a ghillie while walking around. Since people pick up on movement, and it's difficult to move with a ghillie on, there's no point in wearing it standing up. It's to be used when you're in a prone position or while low crawling. That's why the ones that you make by hand have material primarily on the back of the body, not the front.
