Do I have to have a valid ID to rent the equipment at a paintball place?

Me and some family are going paint balling for the first time and I was wondering if I didn't have a valid Id would they still let me rent the stuff. Could i maybe just tell my brother to rent the stuff for me or what? Any Ideas?
