cabelas usually have some good online deals. wal mart puts stuff on rollback after season a lot of times. you can try local dealers sometimes theyre cheaper on certain items (not usually though). midwayusa sometimes has good deals. ebay would be your best bet though come to think about it cause you could bid whatever you think an item is worth and you might get something pretty cheap and sometimes the buy it now option is way cheaper than buying it from a retailer. i saved $40 bucks on a nikon scope using the buy it now option
